Google has named gone on to name its next version of Android as Android 4.4 “KitKat” , this is completely different from the name “keylimePie “ which was going around the rumor mills since a long time .

The company had to say this in a blog post about the reason naming it KitKat “"As everyone finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats."

The next version of Android to be named KitKat

As we all know Google names each version of android with names of deserts such as :
Android 1.5 –Cupcake
Android 1.6 –Donut
Android 2.0 –Éclair
Android 2.2 –Froyo
Android 2.3 –Gingerbread
Android 3.0 –Honeycomb
Android 4.0 –Ice Cream Sandwich
Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean
Android 4.4 -Kitkat

HTC is developing a mobile operating system for China

Since few years HTC is struggling to gain a respectable position in the mobile industry where companies like Samsung and Apple have become the user’s brand of choice .With decreasing sales in North America and Europe, China is a market where HTC has always experienced growth and with the Chinese market flooded with Google and Apple powered devices with whom the Chinese government has gone into bitter relationship since the past few years ,the need for an indigenous mobile operating system just makes sense . The operating system is supposed to have deep integration with applications and services often used by the Chinese people and is slated for launch at the end of 2013 with a china only exclusive release. HTC is trying to meet all the points the Chinese officials want in developing this operating system .Whether this will be a completely new operating system build from scratch or built over android is not known yet.

Nokia Lumia 1020 vs. Samsung S4 Zoom
Two Big companies two great phones let’s see what sets them apart from each other. Where the Lumia 1020 comes with a 41 megapixel camera with 6x optical zoom the Samsung S4 zoom comes with a 16 megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom.

The Samsung s4 zoom looks more like a camera with at a phone measuring 4.9 x 2.5 x 1.06 inches while on the other hand Nokia’s Lumia 1020 looks sexier maintaining a sleek dimensions 5.1 x 2.8 x 0.41inches in this department Lumia 1020 takes a lead.

Coming to the displays both phones have to offer ,the Lumia 1020 sports a bright, colourful, 4.5-inch and 1280 x 768 AMOLED Pure Motion display however the display looks dimmer and oversaturated while on the other hand the Samsung S4 zoom has a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 qHD Super AMOLED screen which shows good saturation and vibrant colors in this department Samsung S4 zoom gets it all right.

Under the hood the Lumia 1040 sports a 1.5 GHz dual core snapdragon processor with 2GB ram while the Samsung s4 zoom has an 1.5 GHz Dual core processor with 1.5 GB ram however since android phones are more power hungry then windows phones the s4 zoom suffers from some lags while the Lumia 1020 works like a charm, in this department the Lumia 1020 gets a thumbs up.

Now coming to the very reason both these devices where made for , the camera performance of both these phones are good but as usual there will be only one winner where the Samsung S4 zoom shines at zoom the phone takes a hit at daylight and indoor photography where the Lumia 1020 comes out with flying colours , in this department Lumia is a clear winner .

The Lumia comes with an 2000mAh battery while the Samsung S4 zoom comes with a 2330 mAh however given this the Lumia still has a greater battery life , this one again goes to the Lumia 1020. So overall the Nokia Lumia looks a better option .

There are some image samples clicked from both the phones via.

The Indian IT Sector – A $100 billion industry
We got independence 66 years ago and come 2013 we are a major player there is one major industry which has played an important role, In the last two decades the Indian IT sector has grown to such a great extent that just within 20 years the revenue generated by the IT sector has grown from $150 million in the 1990’s to $100 billion in FY 2012. In this article we take you through the history of this industry which has made India one of the major players in the IT sector.

It all started in 1968 when Tata consultancy services was established in SEEPZ, Mumbai back then it was the largest software producer in India. The establishment of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1951 helped India to produce skilled professionals which would then take advantages of US policies and by 1960 10,000 professionals would have settle in the US. The center for software development and computing techniques was established in 1973 which aimed to get success in software development.

During 1977- 1980 Information Technology companies Tata InfoTech, ProcSys, Patni Computer Systems and Wipro had become known names .The government established many specialized center’s that aimed to modernize India. Government driven company’s such as MTNL and VSNL were being modernized.

In the 1990’s government made polices shifts which removed many restrictions to liberalize India, Due to this many industries were benefited   and one such industry was the IT sector .This allowed foreign investments into the country apart from these the other factor that influenced the growth of the IT sector was large manpower of skilled professionals knowing English and wages were just 1/10th of that of US. This also led to great examples of entrepreneurship such as Infosys .Even the creation of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in 1991 at various States in India played an important role. In 1991 electronic mail service, 64 kbps leased line in 1992 and then commercial internet access in 1991 also allowed the IT sector to penetrate more inside the Indian economy. From 1993 -2002 various other policy changes were made and the country’s domestic IT sector also saw an incredible growth.

This has helped many cities such as Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad to grow and has caused a infrastructure boom in various cities Bangalore has become the silicon valley of India with 33% exports of software while Mumbai also offer a fair bit of share in IT exports .The city of Pune has also witnessed a large investment of various IT companies. Over the years many foreign companies have also setup headquarters such as Microsoft , Google , EBay ,Amazon to name a few . Recently NASSCOM estimated the Indian IT sector to be valued at $100 billion in Fy 2012, just adding to what major role it plays in Indian GDP.

Currently the IT sector is growing at a rate of 30% and still remains one of the major employment generator. Whatever way one look at the IT sector, it is contributing to the growth of the Indian economy.  It is being predicted that India is going to be a major developed power possibly in the next 20 year’s time and the information technology sector could very well be one of the major contributing factors for getting India into that enviable position.

How to protect your privacy?

Few weeks before the concern’s about privacy were again all around the web thanks to the US government and its policy to use tech giants of the Silicon Valley to spy on people and governments all around the web .This led to a lot of debates and various countries taking a stern action against the US . But what one should do to protect his or her own privacy at home from intruders? There we will shed some light on few basic things you can do to protect your privacy.
1] Sign out of Google while browsing
While browsing refrain from logging into Google as all your data will be stored as history by Google while searching on Google. In order to delete your browsing history go to your Google account setting there you will see Account activity under the account tab just go there and delete all your data. There are many cases where governments all around the world have required for user data.

This may sound difficult but there are inbuilt features in both Windows and Mac. Windows user can use the bit locker software found in windows 7 and windows 8 .Mac user can also do the same.
3] Use a ip masking Software
Visiting an unknown website think twice, you might be leaving your digital footprint like your ip address, web browser, location etc. To prevent your information from getting tracked you can use an ip masking software or for that matter even an proxy website that will act as an intermediate between you system and the website by shielding your actual information .Making an Google search for ‘proxy websites’ will return a lot of website which will complete your needs.
4] Google- 2 step verification
Google is offering a service where you will be provided an authentication code on your phone every time you try to login from an system which you have never before which eliminates the possibility of your e-mail account to be hacked. This option can be activated by going into your Google account setting where you will find it under the security tab.
5] Don’t save password on your browser
Maximum number of credit cards frauds and account hacking takes place due to very reason. So don’t save your passwords on your browsers.
6] Google alert on your name
This may sound silly but can create a search alert for a particular query on Google where every time the specified query is searched by someone it will alert you .You can find this service here .
7] clear all your history and cookies
You can do so by going to your browser setting and tell it to automatically delete your browsing history and cookies or use a third party application like Ccleaner.

The patient war: Samsung might be in serious trouble
The patent war: Samsung might be in serious trouble
The fight against the two tech giants of the world is no secret. This all started when apple filed a 38 page federal complaint on April 15, 2011 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California alleging Samsung had infringed a large number of its patents , in counter Samsung too filed various complaints and law suits against apple in courts all around the world including Seoul ,Germany ,Tokyo and many more countries by now it was clear the battle for the top spot in the ever growing mobile computing was intensifying with Android becoming a great threat to Apple which before had a full dominance in the smart phone category , both the company’s had their own share of ups and downs in the own going patent battle and now come 2013 the war is still on with the US International Trade Commission’s(US ITC) finding Samsung to infringe apple patents in its mobile ,tablets and media player categories. Now the ITC has sent the order to the president of the United States Barack Obama who will have to review the order within 60 days and if he gives a nod Samsung would be banned from importing a large number of its products in its tablet and smartphone categories.

IPhone5s September launch date?
IPhone5s September launch date?
When it comes to rumour’s there is no device on earth that can be compared to an iPhone let it be release dates ,specs or even pricing the phone is always in the media spotlight .This time the news comes from allthingsd who claims that the iPhone 5s we be launched at a September 10th press conference this sounds possible because of the company’s history which have released the previous generation iPhone’s somewhere around the 3rd quarter . However no indication has been given about the release of the low cost iPhone. The specs included iOs 7 and all new processor the phone will however inherit the design of the Iphone5 and is rumoured to have a finger print scanner. At this point of time there are also various speculations about the launch of other Apple products which include the iPhone 6, iPhone 5c (low cost iPhone) and for that matter even the iPad 5 to take place somewhere in September.

As many you must be knowing that Microsoft had launched a Windows 8 variant called the “Windows 8 RT” on the Surface RT tablet alongside Windows 8, primarily meant for running on tablets powered by the ARM Architecture .It seems that this Variant of the OS has been taking the hit from the very time it launched, It seems Microsoft’s gamble on producing an operating system for low cost tables has gone all wrong with just a few days back news coming out that the company took a loss of $900 million on unsold Surface RT tablets and now ASUS washing it hands off from producing an new tablet based on windows 8 RT. But on the midst of all this reports Microsoft is supposedly going to launch the second variant of its Surface RT tablet (Surface RT 2) somewhere in October alongside windows 8.1. Some known details about the tablet state that it will be running on Tegra 4 SOC with Intel’s bail trail.

Android 5.0 Key Lime pie spotted in the wild
Android 5.0 Key Lime pie spotted in the wild
With Google releasing an iteration of the Jellybean flavor Android 4.3 just last week, Google has been delaying the Launch date of Android 5.0 named Key Lime pie.
But this week compelling evidence was found when a user running test in the chromium bug tracker found the nexus 7 and nexus 4 running Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie)
The ‘J’ in JDQ39 and the others stands for Jellybean while the ‘k’ in KRS368 and KRS36B is supposed to be Key Lime Pie.
Android 4.3 was too discovered in a similar fashion in April , so taking this in mind the new iteration of android will supposedly release somewhere in October or November. The same time when the nexus 10 is going to release this makes sense. As all the versions of android have lately been released with a nexus device.
